Those of you who have been buying books from me even from my pre bookcart days know how obsessed I am with this book. I've reread it twice in the last five years (feel free to check my facts over on the book log page!) and I don't know how many times as a teen. 

A single mom of five children back in the 1930s, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Blanchet decided that the most reasonable thing to do was move all of them onto a 25ft boat and explore the western coast of Canada. Needless to say, M. Wylie Blanchet is a huge hero of mine.
